# Energy regulator, Nersa, has approved generation licences for four solar photovoltaic projects under the renewable energy independent power producer procurement programme. The projects, located in the Free State and Mpumalanga, have a combined contracted capacity of 890 megawatts and are expected to strengthen the electricity supply. Nersa’s Charles Hlebela says the developments will also support job creation, local industry development and broader economic growth:
