# FlySafair maintains that its overbooking model is both lawful and commonly applied in the global aviation industry. The National Consumer Commission has referred the airline to the National Consumer Tribunal for overbooking flights. This follows findings that the low-cost carrier may have contravened sections of the Consumer Protection Act.
