Five German climbers killed in an avalanche in the Italian Alps

# Five German climbers died after being caught in an avalanche in Italy’s Dolomite mountains. Two others escaped unharmed. According to authorities, the mountaineers, travelling in separate groups, were scaling Cima Vertana in the Ortler Alps when the fast-moving snow hit. The bodies of two men and a woman were recovered on Saturday, while the two other victims, a father and his 17-year-old daughter, were found on Sunday. The number of accidents in the Italian Alps has increased in recent years.
