EU expands carbon border adjustment, African exporters face new hurdles

# African exporters are facing new challenges as the European Union expands its Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, now including indirect emissions from electricity used in manufacturing. Aluminium producer Hulamin’s Hendrik de Villiers warns this could affect carbon-intensive industries, including South Africa.
