EU closing in on its climate and energy targets

# The European Union says it is staying the course on its 2030 climate commitments, investing with determination in the clean energy transition. The EU is closing in collectively on a 55-percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, and reaching a share of at least 42.5-percent of renewable energy. It says member states are demonstrating political resolve to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels, and improve the resilience and security of energy supplies. It adds that bringing all actors on board is crucial for a just transition to a climate-neutral economy.
