Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla’s July unrest trial set to begin today

# The trial of Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla, daughter of former president Jacob Zuma, is expected to begin at the Durban High Court today. She faces charges including incitement to commit terrorism and incitement to commit public violence. These charges stem from her alleged role in instigating violence during the unrest that swept across parts of Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal in July 2021. The violence left over 350 people dead. Zuma-Sambudla has consistently maintained her innocence. The State is expected to call more than 60 witnesses over the next two weeks.
