# Deputy Finance Minister David Masondo says South Africa’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force’s greylist does not mean every weakness in the system has been resolved. He says this is why government is currently conducting national assessments of the risks associated with money-laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation financing. South Africa was removed from the greylist last year, after the country illustrated its improved ability to combat money-laundering and terrorist financing. Masondo says the country must continue to show that it detects, investigates, and prosecutes financial crimes.
