DA welcomes the suspension of South Gauteng NPA director Andrew Chauke

# The DA has welcomed president Cyril Ramaphosa’s decision to suspend South Gauteng Director of Public Prosecutions, advocate Andrew Chauke, pending an inquiry into his fitness to hold office. He has been at the centre of allegations for many years that he has acted as a gatekeeper and has weaponised the National Prosecuting Authority to protect the politically powerful and corrupt. The DA’s Glynnis Breytenbach says appointed by former president Jacob Zuma, Chauke protected the corrupt and delayed many prosecutions against elements of state capture.
