# The DA has urged Water and Sanitation minister, Penny Majodina, to request an immediate Auditor-General investigation into the eleven-billion-rand cost increase of Phase 2 of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project. Budgeted at eight-billion-rand in 2008, the DA’s Stephen Moore says the costs have escalated to 53.3-billion-rand. He warns that these overruns could jeopardise water security for 16-million residence in Gauteng, the Free State, and North West:
