Court to hear the first part of the state’s appeal process in the Omotoso case

# The Eastern Cape High Court in Gqeberha is today set to hear the first part of the appeals process by the state of the acquittal of televangelist pastor Timothy Omotoso and his two co-accused. This follows a directive by judge Irma Schoeman after the state sent a request for clarification of factual findings in her judgment. The three were acquitted in April on charges including human trafficking and rape. Omotoso was deported from South Africa to Nigeria in May.
