# Union federation COSATU has welcomed the launch of Eskom Green. The dedicated renewable energy business is designed to accelerate the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects. Spokesperson Matthew Parks says COSATU however remains deeply opposed to any unbundling of Eskom as this threatens its ability to provide energy security. He says Eskom’s entry into the renewable energy sector is crucial, but should not simply be to the advantage of the private sector:
