# Transnet Port Terminals has handed over the first nine advanced rubber-tyred gantries at the Cape Town Container Terminal, marking a major milestone in port operations. Equipped with anti-sway technology, the gantries are reducing vessel and truck turnaround times while increasing daily container handling. Western Cape MEC Agriculture, Economic Development and Tourism, Ivan Meyer praised the investment, highlighting its role in economic growth, job creation, and strengthening the Port of Cape Town’s global competitiveness:
