Cape Town events in August generated around R200-million

# The City of Cape Town says 104 events were hosted in August, generating economic activity of around 200-million-rand for the metro. The events in August, which included rugby, film and lifestyle festivals, attracted approximately 250-thousan people, including spectators and participants. The Rugby Championship clash between South Africa and Australia attracted August’s biggest crowd, with over 62-thousand fans at the Cape Town Stadium. Mayoral committee member for Safety and Security JP Smith says they are already gearing up for an even busier September.
