# More than 100 blankets collected during a special community initiative at the Voortrekker Monument, are now on their way to old age homes, care facilities and other vulnerable communities across Pretoria. This comes as the winter cold started to bite. The project is a collaboration between Solidarity’s Helpende Hand, the Jacaranda Beetle Club and MachKnitz volunteers who knitted and crocheted blankets. The blankets were collected and transported in an impressive convoy of 32 Beetles and displayed at the Voortrekker Monument.
