Argentina searches for a painting allegedly looted by a Nazi fugitive and spotted in an ad

# Argentine police are continuing their hunt for an 18th-century Italian portrait believed to be looted 80 years ago from a Jewish collector by a fugitive Nazi officer who settled in Argentina after World War II. Argentina sheltered scores of Nazis and high-ranking party members who fled Europe to avoid prosecution for war crimes. The painting that Argentine authorities are after is Portrait of a Lady, by Italian Baroque artist Giuseppe Vittore Ghislandi. The painting was spotted in an ad for a home believed to be owned by the descendants of Nazi fugitive, Friedrich Kadgien.
