# The Southern African Faith Communities’ Environment Institute will write an open letter to the Bill Gates Foundation. The letter, endorsed by more than 600 African faith leaders, is calling for reparations for the damage caused by the industrial agriculture models the foundation promotes and funds across Africa. Community activist, Wiedaad Davids, says the letter also urges the foundation to acknowledge and address the environmental, social, and economic harms linked to industrial agriculture:
