Africa to host ASI General assembly for the first time in 55-year history

# For the first time in its 55-year history, the Association de la Sommellerie Internationale will host its General Assembly in Africa. The historic event highlights Africa’s growing role in global wine culture and sets the stage for the ASI Best Sommelier of Africa and the Middle East competition in 2027. It will take place in Stellenbosch and Cape Town. Delegates from more than 60 countries will gather for strategic meetings, tastings, and cultural events. The event also celebrates South Africa’s rich winemaking heritage and sommelier talent on the global stage.
