# The Africa and Global South Water Dialogue in Kempton Park, Johannesburg, is addressing Gauteng’s growing water security challenges. Water and Sanitation Deputy Minister, David Mahlobo, says the agenda includes sustainable water infrastructure, leak management, and sanitation innovation to curb diseases typhoid. Mahlobo says the dialogue emphasises importance of water-efficient sanitation systems and financing models, promote climate-resilient, and sustainable water use as 40-percent of Gauteng water is unaccounted for.
