Acting minister of Police is concerned over a spate of politically linked violence [SOUND]

# Acting Police minister Firoz Cachalia says an attack on political representatives or supporters, regardless of party affiliation, is an attack on the democratic rights of all South Africans. This follows a spate of suspected political killings during this past weekend’s voter registration drive. A DA by-election candidate was killed in Cape Town, while an ANC ward councillor was gunned down in Gqeberha. Two MK Party members were shot dead in Bekkersdal, Gauteng. Cachalia says political violence has no place in a constitutional democracy:
