Stellenbosch scientists mobilise to tackle Ebola outbreak in DRC and Uganda

# Stellenbosch University scientists have joined efforts to help contain the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. The outbreak, caused by the Bundibugyo strain, has been declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organisation. Researchers say there are currently no licensed vaccines or specific treatments for this strain, making containment and early detection critical. They warn that limited diagnostic tools and cross-border movement could speed up the spread.
