# Justice and Constitutional Development minister Mmamoloko Kubayi launched the Court Interpreters’ Robing Programme at Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre in Pretoria yesterday. Interpreters will now be officially robed in court, marking a historic milestone. Kubayi highlighted the initiative as the first of its kind globally, professionalising court interpreting, introducing official gowns, a black-and-white dress code, and a Code of Ethics. The programme aims to affirm interpreters’ critical role, promoting integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct within South Africa’s justice system.
