# The City of Cape Town’s Safety and Security Directorate is encouraging residents to submit nominations for the Neighbourhood Watch Awards. The awards recognise the dedication, hard work and commitment of neighbourhood watches. Nominations can be made for an individual who is part of a registered organisation, or the organisation itself. Mayoral committee member for Safety and Security, JP Smith, says the categories include neighbourhood watch member of the year, crime fighter of the year, and mobiliser of the year:
