# The Southern African Faith Communities’ Environment Institute is strongly opposed to Eskom’s bid for the extension of the lifeline for Koeberg nuclear power station’s Unit 2 in Cape Town. The power utility has applied to the South African Nuclear Energy Corporation to have the operating licence of Unit 2 at Koeberg extended for a further 20 years, just like Unit 1.
