Cape Town’s aviation success driving jobs and economic opportunities [SOUND]

# The City of Cape Town says aviation is a cornerstone of the metro’s economic growth mission. In 2024, Cape Town International Airport welcomed over ten million passengers and moved 75-thousand tonnes of cargo. Already this year, it is tracking an eight-percent increase in domestic travel, and a five-percent rise in international arrivals. Mayoral committee member for Economic Growth, James Vos, says from November through March, Cape Town will be directly connected by 24 airlines, flying to 30 destinations across 35 routes:
