SIU links R816-million Tembisa Hospital syndicate to Ramaphosa’s nephew Maumela [SOUND]

# The Special Investigating Unit has linked a Tembisa Hospital corruption syndicate to businessman Hangwani Morgan Maumela, nephew of president Cyril Ramaphosa. SIU head Andy Mothiba says Maumela’s network funneled 816-million-rand through one-thousand-728 purchase orders, bypassing procurement rules. Associates, including Vusimuzi ‘Cat’ Matlala, also benefited. He confirmed fraudulent splitting of tenders as both successful and unsuccessful companies were found to have colluded, working together and compensating one another:
