# The University of Pretoria and China’s Nanjing University have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish institutional ties, aimed at fostering student exchange programmes and promoting joint research projects. The joint research projects will be in fields such as cancer treatments, sustainable development, engineering and artificial intelligence, and climate change. UP vice-chancellor and principal, professor Francis Petersen, says the key objective of this partnership is to facilitate intercultural academic experiences and knowledge transfer.
