Western Cape Education celebrates the province’s top teachers [SOUND]

# The Western Cape Department of Education celebrated the province’s top teachers at the 2025 Western Cape Provincial Teaching Awards last night. There were 15 winners, including Charissa Shay-Sithole from Apex High School, who received the Excellence in Teaching Mathematics award, while the National Best Teacher award went to Wedaad Esau from Bridgeville Primary School. MEC David Maynier says the winners will now go on to represent the province as nominees for the National Teaching Awards, which will take place in October:
