# Parliament’s select committee on Public Infrastructure has welcomed the Hawks’ raid on the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa’s headquarters in Braamfontein, Johannesburg. During the raid, the Hawks seized documents, laptops and mobile phones of Prasa’s top executives, including CEO Hishaam Emeran. The Hawks are investigating allegations of corruption in connection with two tenders for train signalling equipment worth 18-billion-rand. Committee chairperson, Rikus Badenhorst, says this highlights a need for transparency and accountability within Prasa.
