# Soweto Tourism has slammed the Gauteng government for its failure to resolve the ongoing liquidation of the Mandela House Museum on Vilakazi Street, in Soweto. As the world commemorates Mandela Day, the association argues the museum, once envisioned as a symbol of heritage and empowerment, remains under the control of liquidators with no clear plan for recovery. The association’s Thato Mothopeng says the government’s inaction is a betrayal of the late former president Nelson Mandela’s legacy.
