US Environmental Protection Agency proposes repeal of regulations for power plants

# The US Environmental Protection Agency has proposed the repeal of several major power plant regulations. These are the 2015 emissions standards for new fossil fuel-fired power plants, the 2024 rules for new and existing fossil fuel-fired power plants, and the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards. The regulations mandated that coal- and gas-fired power plants reduce their emissions by 90-percent by the early 2030s. EPA Lee Zeldin says the primary purpose of these regulations was to regulate coal, oil, and gas out of existence.
