# South African-founded digital asset platform, Luno, has welcomed a landmark ruling by the High Court in Pretoria, calling for an overhaul of South Africa’s outdated crypto regulations. Judge Mandlenkosi Motha found that the country’s 1961 exchange control laws cannot apply to digital currencies and called for urgent legislative reform.
