# US President Donald Trump has urged Britain to drill for more oil rather than build wind turbines. Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform that he strongly recommends to them that in order to get their energy costs down, they stop with the costly and unsightly windmills, and incentivise modernised drilling in the North Sea, where large amounts of oil lay waiting to be taken. The United States has pivoted back towards fossil fuels, with Trump making energy policy a central part of his agenda since returning to office in January.
