SANDF clarifies foreign allowance structure for troops in external missions [SOUND]

# The South African National Defence Force has provided clarity regarding the foreign allowance structure for troops deployed in external missions. This follows revelations that the SANDF soldiers deployed to the Democratic Republic of Congo under the Southern African Development Community Mission reportedly received only 34-thousand-rand per month, despite SADC allocating 108-thousand-rand per soldier. SANDF’s spokesperson, Prince Tshabalala, says each troop-contributing country maintains its own policies governing the allowances its personnel receive:
