# US president Donald Trump says Chinese-made smartphones and other electronics will not be exempt from tariffs. A US customs notice on Saturday revealed smartphones, computers and some other electronic devices would be excluded from the 125-percent tariff on goods from China. However, Trump said they are simply moving into a different levy “bucket”. European stock markets rose this morning following the announcement that some products would escape the levies. Meanwhile China has called on Trump to cancel his tariffs regime, and “return to the path of mutual respect”.
