Mayor urges minister Creecy to prioritise Cape Town’s port in private sector plans [SOUND]

# Cape Town Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis has urged Transport minister Barbara Creecy to prioritise private sector partnerships for the city’s port in the upcoming request for information process, set to be issued this month. Research suggests improvements could create 20-thousand jobs and boost exports by six-billion-rand. He says inefficiencies have led to a 20-percent drop in fresh produce exports and are costing businesses. Hill-Lewis warns that delays force exporters to reroute goods at high costs:
