# An adventurer who was just days from completing a solo row in an enclosed boat from San Diego in California to the Queensland capital of Brisbane has been rescued after getting caught in Tropical Cyclone Alfred. Aurimas Mockus was in the final stages of his 12-thousand-kilometre voyage across the Pacific Ocean. He activated an emergency beacon and was rescued by a warship of the Royal Australian Navy. Mockus was attempting to become one of the few rowers who have crossed the Pacific alone and without stopping.
