# University of Fort Hare’s final-year BCom Economics student, Katleho Mphutlane, says his recent visit to the US has reinforced his commitment to youth empowerment. The 27-year-old was part of an academic programme organised by the University of Washington. He also was recently awarded the prestigious Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund grant from the US Department of State, alongside, Paseka Gaola, for their nonprofit organisation, Incremental Education. Mphutlane says he is driven by the belief that service has the power to change lives.
