# Analysts don’t regard US president Donald Trump as a serious contender for this year’s Nobel Peace Prize, which will be announced by the Norwegian Nobel Institute this morning. He was reportedly nominated by leaders from Israel, Cambodia and Pakistan. Among the 208 individuals and 79 organisations who were registered as candidates are Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky, Pope Frances, and Swedish activist Greta Thunberg. These names have been mentioned despite the official nomination lists remaining strictly confidential for 50 years.
