# British explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes has not been seen in public for nearly two years, after he earlier revealed that he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. The 82-year-old is living at a care facility in England, but relatives have told the BBC it is “very painful” that they have been unable to visit him for more than a year. Police say they are satisfied with his care arrangements. Fiennes was the first person to reach both poles by surface means and has been described as the world’s greatest living explorer.
