# President Cyril Ramaphosa has condemned the recent mass shootings in the country. Seventeen people were killed at a tavern in Wedela on the West Rand, while ten people were shot dead in Lwandle, Cape Town, over the weekend. Meanwhile, last week, eleven people were killed in a mass shooting at a house in the KwaMakhutha township in Durban. Speaking in Gauteng yesterday, Ramaphosa said this level of violence must be curbed:
