# Women leaders and professionals in the defence sector are using the Africa Aerospace and Defence Trade Exhibition and Air Show in Pretoria to call for protection amid the country’s gender-based violence crisis. Nine women have been killed in Ekurhuleni since July. Participants observed a moment of silence for victims and called for greater accountability. Five of the nine women have not yet been identified. Authorities have urged families of missing persons to visit the Germiston mortuary to assist with the identification process.
