Government looks to expand access to housing finance [SOUND]

# Human Settlements minister Thembi Simelane says government is expanding housing opportunities for South Africans unable to secure traditional home loans. Speaking at the National Housing Finance Corporation’s 30th anniversary summit in Boksburg, Simelane says ten-billion-rand has been mobilised from the private sector, assisting more than 800-thousand households over five-years. She says government is considering extending support to households earning up to 35-thousand-rand, while releasing serviced land to in building homes:
