# Archaeologists in Peru have uncovered a tomb containing the remains of at least 38 people, dating back around 600 years. It is near the ancient capital of the pre-Incan Chimú civilisation, Chan Chan, on the northern coast. Researchers also discovered artefacts including metal weapons, with the tomb remarkably well preserved and apparently untouched for centuries. Experts say the discovery is significant because many other ancient burial sites in the area were looted or damaged.
