Infrastructure SA faces R1.6-trillion funding gap [SOUND]

# Infrastructure South Africa says the country faces a R1.6-trillion funding gap for major infrastructure projects. Addressing delegates at the Sustainable Infrastructure Development Symposium South Africa, currently underway in Cape Town, Infrastructure South Africa head, Mameetse Masemola, says municipalities need financing to address ageing water, electricity, road and waste infrastructure. She added that as government has allocated 1.1-trillion-rand for capital projects, projects must attract private sector investment:
