# The City of Cape Town has approved technical assistance to the value of over one-million-rand from the German development agency GIZ, under the South Africa-Germany Energy Programme. The programme is aligned with the metro’s Energy Strategy, as it is structured to support South Africa’s energy transition through collaboration for a reliable, affordable and clean energy system. Mayoral committee member for Energy, Xanthea Limberg, says the programme will run for three years:
