# The South African Reserve Bank is calling on aspirant economists, who will be entering their first year of undergraduate studies in the 2027 academic year, to apply for its external bursaries programme. Several external scholarships and bursaries are made available annually to qualifying prospective undergraduates as part of the central bank’s efforts to address the severe skills shortage in the country. The bursaries are in the fields of economics, economics and econometrics, economics and mathematical statistics, and economic science. The closing date for the submission of applications is September 30th.
