The fixture was reportedly on the brink of cancellation because Outeniqua couldn’t afford the travel costs of 1,4-million-rand for the return trip of over one-thousand-400 kilometre. Grey’s headmaster, Braam van Wyk, warns economic pressures because of high fuel prices may force schools to rethink their interschool fixtures and tours. The match is scheduled for August 8.
