ActionSA probes UPL’s R17 billion infrastructure deal [SOUND]

# ActionSA has launched an investigation into the multinational agro-chemical company, UPL South Africa’s reported 17-billion-rand infrastructure deal involving Infrastructure South Africa, citing concerns over the company’s environmental record and alleged political interference. The party’s Michael Beaumont says a whistleblower claimed a Cabinet member instructed officials not to pursue action against UPL following the 2021 chemical spill in eThekwini. He says they will use parliamentary and municipal oversight processes to examine the deal:
