# The Ministry of Electricity and Energy has launched a first-of-its-kind district energy council in the ZF Mgcawu District in the Northern Cape. The pilot project brings together government, Eskom, municipalities, business and other stakeholders to strengthen cooperation and improve electricity reliability at the district level. Deputy minister Samantha Graham-Maré says the council will run for 12 months and may later be expanded to other districts:
