# The seventh edition of one of South Africa’s premier film events, the Joburg Film Festival, is set to get underway in Sandton from tomorrow until Sunday. This year’s edition is themed The Golden Thread – Connected Through Stories, recognising that stories are the most precious treasures, illuminating shared humanity and collective wisdom. The festival’s executive director, Timothy Mangwedi, told Newzroom Afrika over 100 films, including 28 African and 12 world premieres, will be shown:
